Use Case Overview
The rise of e-commerce has transformed the way furniture is bought and sold. Shifting customer preferences and lifestyle trends, furniture producers face interesting opportunities and vital challenges. There’s also a growing trend toward customized furniture, itself a dynamic market estimated to grow at a CAGR of over 12% in the next years.
AR wardrobe fitting is a concept for an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) app that integrates online shopping platforms to present unprecedented furniture customization capabilities for customers. By using AR and VR, furniture producers could enrich their customer journey with a context-aware customization process managed by customers in the self-service mode. This has several key benefits:
1) saving time and effort for customers and producers during the furniture customization process
2) letting the customers visualize furniture in the context of their own rooms, eliminating the need for error-prone physical measurements
3) joining the customers virtually to lead them to better and more satisfying purchase decisions.
This is a conceptual demonstration created by Nomtek. It is intended to inspire by illustrating the potential benefits of utilizing Apple Vision Pro - a new, fascinating technology whose positive impact will be large but is yet to be discovered. It is also intended to show Nomtek's engineering competences and application delivery capabilities.

Features
The key advantages of using AR interior design tools for furniture fitting are the spatial, collaborative, and interactive customization experiences they offer potential customers.
Detailed spatial models
AR enables immersive, fine-detail virtual furniture visualizations in the customer's space. Customers get a realistic sense of the space, layout, and features. Plus, AR technology let's customers view different versions of the item to ensure it not only fits the space but also perfectly matches the look and feel of the room.
Real-time customization
The process of AR-driven furniture fitting can be customized in real time, allowing customers to create a wardrobe that matches their individual preferences, needs, and style by switching between different finishes, variants, and storage space layouts.
Collaborative fitting
Using several connected headsets, customers can take part in collaborative furniture fitting sessions, browsing together through different options and seeing the results immediately visualized right in front of them.
Interactive design process
The design process can be enhanced through interactive and context-aware communication with the producer’s sales assistants, who could use the app to join the process and advise via the see-what-I-see mode.
Remote fitting
The app also allows customers to either scan the room where the wardrobe will be installed or use its 3D model to later use the spatial scan to design and customize the furniture later. Customers can also use the model in different locations — this AR feature might be particularly handy for spaces that are not yet available to customers, e.g., those still being built.

Value for producers
Wardrobe producers can leverage the power of AR-driven furniture fittings to increase their sales, reduce costs, and better understand their customers’ needs.
Increased conversion
The contextual, high-detail AR experience shows the wardrobe’s look and feel, functional layout, and various other features, leading to more informed and satisfying buying decisions for customers and increased sales conversion rates for producers.
Reduced returns
By allowing customers to virtually "try before they buy," AR reduces the likelihood of returns due to mismatched styles, layouts, or sizes — saving furniture producers time and money associated with processing returns and restocking inventory.
Reduced costs
By providing customers with a context-sensitive and asynchronous customization tool in the self-service mode, producers reduce both the costs associated with maintaining physical furniture showrooms and the time the company’s employees spend on guiding customers through the on-site customization process.
Understanding client preferences
Advanced product customization in digitally recognized environments allows producers to capture detailed customer data, generating valuable insights into the needs and preferences of the various customer segments.
